Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 5th, 2025
Adapt Learning, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, ADAPT (the "App").
By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
(a) Personal Information You Provide:
Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect your name and email address. We store this information in our secure backend (Firebase) to manage your account and provide password reset functionality. We do not see or store your plain-text password.
(b) User-Generated Data & Prompts:
User Inputs: We collect the information, questions, and prompts you submit to the App to generate courses or interact with the AI learning coaches ("User Inputs").
(c) Data We Collect Automatically:
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, such as the features you click on, the courses you generate, and error logs ("Usage Data"). This includes technical data such as your IP address, device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers to facilitate analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and secure your account on our Firebase backend.
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core functionality.
- Transmit your User Inputs to our third-party AI Service provider (Google) to generate personalized courses and coaching responses.
- Analyze Usage Data internally and via third-party tools to understand trends and improve the App.
- Communicate with you, including sending password reset links and support responses.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
(a) Disclosure to Third-Party AI Service Provider (Google): The App's core functionality is powered by the Google Gemini API. To generate courses and coaching responses, we must send your User Inputs (your prompts) to Google. This API call DOES NOT include your name, email address, or password. Your account information remains in our separate, secure Firebase database. Google receives only the content of your User Input to generate a response. This data is subject to Google's data handling policies.
(b) Disclosure to Third-Party Analytics (Mixpanel): We use third-party analytics services, such as Mixpanel, to help us understand how users engage with the App. These services access Usage Data and device information to track trends, detect errors, and improve the user experience. This data is processed in accordance with their privacy policies.
(c) For Internal Operations: Your Account Information (name, email) and Usage Data are stored in our Firebase backend and are accessible only to us for the purposes of account management and internal analytics.
(d) By Law or to Protect Rights: We may disclose your information if required by law or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
4. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures (such as those provided by Firebase) to help protect your Account Information. We enforce a separation between your Account Information and the User Inputs sent to our AI provider. However, no security measure is 100% impenetrable.
5. Data Retention
We will retain your Account Information for as long as your account is active.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to or intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@adaptlearning.io, and we will take steps to delete that account and information.
7. Your Data Rights
You may have certain rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your Account Information. You can manage your account data by contacting us at support@adaptlearning.io.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA Addendum)
If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you specific rights regarding your personal information:
(a) Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months.
(b) Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions.
(c) Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
(d) "Do Not Sell" Information: We do not sell your personal information for monetary value. However, we may share anonymized usage data with third-party analytics providers (like Mixpanel) to improve our App, which may be considered a "sale" under California law. You may opt out of this by contacting support.
(e) Exercising Your Rights: To exercise the access, data portability, and deletion rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us at: support@adaptlearning.io with the subject line "CCPA Request".
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App.
